1. How are we going to exchange the Lavo? I'm a little confused about what you're asking. Are you asking How are we going to convert our dollars, yen, pounds, euro, what have you into Lavo? OR How are we going to send payment when it'd due? Here are some services I can see us trading Lavo between ourselves for: -law -graphic design -web design -programming -Gmail invites -casino -news -writing

How we are going to send payment when it's due.
But exchanging from currency to currency is also a problem. I'd just assume turning dollars into Lavos would be like purchasing Lavos from the government.

The Lavo would be maintained completely online. You wouldn't convert your macronational currency into Lavo, and you wouldn't be able to convert Lavo into macronational currency. We would have something like a phpBank to manage transfers of money. If you are curious about this type of system, I strongly suggest you go to Antica and learn about their phpBank system.

So we would have a fiat currency. Henzelli would say, "I hereby pull 10,000 Lavos out of thin air. The government shall now begin loaning them out at 25% interest."
It would be more imaginary than real, that's for sure.
Basing the currency on something real gives the currency real, convertible value.

No. Everyone starts with something about the equivalent of about $50 U.S., as a sort of gift from the government, and they must earn the rest.

50$ or 10,000 Lavos...same difference.
Where are you going to get the money for this if it is not virtual (I hate use the word "imaginary")?
How much money have Jon's t-shirts made? (I'm not putting down Lavalon's CafePress store. I would probably have bought something already had I not gone to Avalonia.)

If you are interested in such an economy that I have in mind, Matt, check out the Faronian economy. That's basically what I have in mind here.
