Although I am not Roman Catholic, I would like to recognize that Pope John Paul II was a great man and we should honor him for what he has done for the world.

He was indeed a great man. He fought for peace in the middle east more fervently than Clinton ever did, he was the first pope in history to step inside a Mosque (super cool!), and he forgave the guy who tried to assassinate him. He got to ride around in giant glass cars so he could stand and wave, thus coining the term Popemobile.
Now we have to wait for conclave to start....and end to see who will be Pope next.

I think next pope should be from the United States.

I think the Nigerian I saw on the news would be good....he's fought for everything Pope John Paul II did and then some. And the Cardinals are looking for someone who will continue John Paul's streak of greatness, so I think we might have our first non-European, African Pope. And not to offend you Xon, but none of the American Cardinals are even in the running as possible candidates. We're just that hated.

I really think that the new Pope shouldn't be from the US

Seriously....a lot of American Cardinals don't even perform their basic duties for humanity, let alone God. Is it any wonder that the vast majority of sex abuse scandals are in the United States? No American Cardinal, in my opinion, is worth that Papal crown.

It is an example of tolerance towards other religions that you have made here, neem. I appreciate that, and wish that more Muslims were like that and that more non-Muslims knew that there are actually tolerant and friendly Muslims (such as yourself) out there.

Matt,
With all due respect, the vast majority of Muslims harbor the same beliefs as Neem. It's a very select few that harbor extremist beliefs. If you take the Taliban, the radicals in Iran, and such, you can't have more than 3% of Muslims worldwide.

Thanks Carson, I totally agree.

Yes, I knew that. However, I sure wish that 3% was like neem.

Yeah, well you could just turn that around and say that about any other extremists from any other religions.

That is true.

*points to the Baptist church down the street* They burned down a Lutheran pastor's house because he was "preaching the word of Satan." Yeah. 3% of every religion is dangerously extremist. I'm sure I saw some Jews chasing down some Catholics wanting to crucify them for supporting the false Messiah. j/k!

Did anyone hear about the anti-abortion activist who killed an abortion doctor? He was friends with the spokesman for the Schindlers.

I didn't hear about that....wow. I hate abortion activists....omg. I might not agree with abortion, but I think the activists are even worse.
