OOC: Because of the dissolution of the WSP's dominance in the SSNG[/color], the New-German line no longer extends to Lavalon. So, those of Lavalon that like a little Socialist action are free to mold this party as they choose.

Article I
Command of the Party
- The chain-of-command shall consist of an elected General Secretary, followed by the Party Commissar, and ending with those who are members of the party not serving in the heirarchy.
- The General Secretary shall be appointed by consensus in the absense of a sizable population to elect a General Secretary. A Commissar shall be appointed if it is decided that one is needed.
- In all Presidential elections in Lavalon, the General Secretary will be the first choice as candidate. If he decides not to run or a general consensus demands he not run, a suitable replacement will be nominated.
Article II
Beliefs of the Party
- All aspects of the government of Lavalon should be made public to the people. No forum should be private.
- All people should be granted the same number of votes in the General Assembly--no law should ever be passed making one sector of the people worth more than the other.
- If the General Assembly is ever based on a system that would give unfair advantage to one sector of the people, the Socialists will fight vehemently to tear it down or create an assembly that will give advantage to the other sectors.
- No laws infringing on speech or thought or practice of personal beliefs in any way should ever be passed.
Article III
Joining and Quitting the Party
- Nobody should ever be refused the right to join the party for any reason.
- Nobody should ever be barred from quitting the party for any reason.
- Gross deviation from the Charter, beyond minor differences in personal opinion, is grounds for a request by the party for a member's resignation.
Article IV
Party-related Information Services
- All information services related to and run by the party shall be administered and controlled by the party at large.
- All information services related to and run by the party shall use names, ideas, and trappings linked to Socialism to instill a sense of pride in Lavalon's Socialists.
- Those of the party that abuse the priveleges of using these information services shall be punished at the discretion of the Party Presidium.
These, then, are the provisional articles for the Socialist Party of Lavalon. These shall be changed and altered to suit the needs and wants of the Laval Socialists as time progresses.
Therefore, reaching consensus of the party, the Provisional Charter of the Socialist Party of Lavalon is signed, this sixteenth day of November, 2004.
