I am pleased to be moderating a debate between our two candidates in the upcoming election for Chancellor: Brandon Sullivan and Akhilesh Pilallimarri. The debate will follow this format:

I. Questions by moderators and answers from each candidates
II. Rebuttals
IV. Questions from the Audience
III. Closing Statements

I would kindly ask that people other than myself and the candidates refrain from posting in this thread until questions from the audience are solicited.

These are the questions. I would appreciate it if each candidate would post their responses.

What qualities do you believe are most important for a Chancellor to have?

Please describe your experience in micronational government. Have you ever held a position in Lavalon's government (If so, what?)? Have you ever held a position similar to this, presiding over a legislative body?

Are you knowledgable in Assembly procedure, as well as Robert's Rules of Order and like writings?

Do you have any other duties, in Lavalon, other micronations, or macronationally, that might make it difficult for you to perform your duties as Chancellor?

On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the best, how would you rate me as a Chancellor? What would you do differently if you held my office?

What is your greatest weakness?

Describe your political ideology in five words or less.

What are your general beliefs on Lavalon and her direction at present? What are your thoughts on the union with Natopia?

How much of a voice do you believe foreigners should have in our Assembly?

What qualities do you believe are most important for a Chancellor to have?

A Chancellor should have a decent amount of micronational or political experience. A chancellor should have the correct view on the issues that immediately face the country. A chancellor should have moral values instilled in them, whether by their family or otherwise.

Please describe your experience in micronational government. Have you ever held a position in Lavalon's government (If so, what?)? Have you ever held a position similar to this, presiding over a legislative body?

I held and continue to hold the positions of Associate Justice to the Supreme Court, Head Judge over the Administrative Law Court, and the position of Undersecretary of State. I also have a very dominant role in Sullifreean government, working as the Practical head of Parliament, making most of the laws myself, having a decent amount of power over the judiciary, and basically being the entire Executive Branch myself. I also head the Guardian Council judiciary and other parts of the government in Aryez, and am a citizen of Breuddwyd as well as a member of Casglaid, once being a member of the Cyfrin Gyngor in Breuddwyd.

Are you knowledgable in Assembly procedure, as well as Robert's Rules of Order and like writings?

I have a regular amount of knowledge of Robert's Rules, but I feel that I am extremely knowledgeable, through experience, of the Rules of Order that govern assembly procedure. I also influenced these rules by proposing the Commentary Act.

Do you have any other duties, in Lavalon, other micronations, or macronationally, that might make it difficult for you to perform your duties as Chancellor?

Lavalon is usually the first micronation I check for updates in whenever I look. I usually do this several times a day, and during the school year I usually do this once a day. During the single LOA I took from Lavalon, I basically still remained somewhat active. I feel that I am a trustworthy person in this category.

On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the best, how would you rate me as a Chancellor? What would you do differently if you held my office?

Carson, I would probably give you a seven. I would allow the flow of ideas to go on more freely, because you may have limited this; one example being the need for the Commentary Act. I would also probably take a more active role in the government. However, these were your only shortcomings. Overall, you were a great chancellor.

What is your greatest weakness?

My greatest weakness is nonmicronational and I definately don't want to discuss it because it is irrelevant. Micronationally, my greatest weakness is probably having citizenship in four different nations, but feel I have handled this much better than most.

Describe your political ideology in five words or less.

Christianity and Cheese are fantastic.

What are your general beliefs on Lavalon and her direction at present? What are your thoughts on the union with Natopia?

I don't like the Union with Natopia. I feel that, in the long run, this could decrease activity in Lavalon. However, should this happen, we will be able to face these issues later on and possibly withdraw from Natopia, and the "burying of the hatchet" with xon that the Union has brung may be an immediate benefit that overrides any sideaffects.

How much of a voice do you believe foreigners should have in our Assembly?

Not much. We should be able to make decisions by ourselves, or we are not an effective government.

What makes you the best choice for Chancellor?

- My morality, thanks to my parents, friends, and other positive influences
- My competence in knowledge in both the regular world as well as politics
- My drastic experience with several micronations spanning over four years
- My ability to make compromises in tough situations (Lavalon vs. Avalonia)
- My love. For everyone. And for everything. All of God's creations. The only thing I cannot love is hatrid and evil.

I even hate my own evils, and regret them, and condemn Satan for providing them.

I'm sorry to hear that. In that event, do you think you would be able to and feel comfortable being a proxy for him, Matt?

Would that be possible? Do they live near eachother or something? As I understand it he's pretty much... offline for a while.

I don't believe they live near each other, but Xon seems to know Aryez pretty well.
