As you know, Lavalon is a Republic. Where a King would ordinarily serve the role of head of culture, Lavalon has a Regent. Besides that Lavalon has two Knightly Orders. However, with the voiding of the Cultural Enhancement Act as a result of the new Basic Laws, those Knightly Orders are in purgatory. I am proposing that we reaffirm the existing two Knightly Orders and make their entry requirements more strict. Either we can vote on it here or the Regent can pass it himself: I motion for debate. Second?

the word in paranthesis should be omitted.
other than that, ill support it.

I protest giving the CPC the power to confer knighthoods. Durring all the forms of Lavalon, that has been the special right of the Head of State alone.
Also, Knights and Knights Stranger have the same rank. Knight Stranger only denotes a member who is not a citizen of Lavalon.
I will oppose this bill, as it infringes on the decorum of the Letters Patent that established the two orders.
I agree that a few changes need to be made, however, but I think these changes would best be made by a Regental Edict ammending the current Letters Patent.

I was under the assumption that the Cultural Policy Council could overule any decision that the Regent makes, as well as make any decision that the Regent could make.
However I do not oppose changes indicating that only the Regent can confer Knighthood.
So long as we have some updated legislation, besides the outdated/outmoded letter's patent, that codify the Kngihtly Orders.

I thought you got knighted in the OL when you posted 500 times?

Well... we shouldn't do it by post counts... I have the most posts but I'm not the one who does the most for Lavalon.

The 500 post thing was an older rule, implemented by myself during my heyday at the old php forums. Then we kinda lost count.
I think the rules need to reward knighthoods based on service and merit, and so giving them to the "top brass" is the best way.
Speaking of service, Z, I think you would do a good job as an Associate Justice (alongside Chief Justice Nate) on the Supreme Court. Neem and Henzelli would have to make your appointment; I don't know if the General Assembly would need to pass an Act expanding the Court to have two justices instead of the current one.

Yea, the Assembly has to approve all changes in the size of the Court. But I'd welcome Z onto the Bench.

Jon, I'm waiting on a cultural edict that would legally state that the knightly orders and/or peerage ARE still in place.
