I've worked on a number of language projects. One of my favorite was Kha'qil (pronouced KHA-cheel--KH like ch in German "Bach"). It was heavily based on what I thought sounded like Arabic and was given a Russian flavor. A friend of mine said it sounded like I was trying to hock a loogey, and indeed, it did. lol. Half the sounds were uvular fricatives.
