I appeal the decision of the following thread: lavalon.proboards22.com/index.cgi?board=charges&action=display&thread=1103681132&start=May this matter be settled by jury? (I am very surprised at your decision. The Basic Law says specifically "if the President resigns", and the President has done so, thereby making okay for me to use the title President, especially in light of the fact that I have already been doing so.) The new website will look confusing with weird titles like "pro tempore" and such. I am, in effect, President and I should have a right to call myself such, as implied by Basic Law 2. Regards, xon

Basic Law 2 does not say that you may actually "be" president. It only says the Vice President serves as president.
However... Basic Law 7 clearly says that the VP "becomes" the Pres if the pres resigns. So... there is my problem. Which Basic Law do we go by? The first one passed? The one that is intended to be permenant? Or do we go by Basic Law 2 until it expires??

Both Basic Laws are active, and so I must be bound by both them until my term ends January 5. You are correct that Basic Law 7 says,
The President resigned, and accordingly I assumed the presidency.
If you choose to make a ruling on this, it could be phrased like this :
"All Basic Laws are equal in legal and procedural force, and hence topically related Basic Laws must be considered together and not individually when used to relate a topical assertion."
In plain english that means, "if a basic law deals with the presidency and another basic law deals with the presidency, but if something is found in one basic law that is not provided for in the other, it is still legally correct."
This is a case you can pursue two ways:
1. Rule on the simple ability for me to call my self president or, dealing with a much larger issue, 2. Proclaiming that Basic Laws should be interpreted equally
I am willing to submit myself to an extended court trial, however I ask that you grant me a temporary order allowing me to use the title "President" until the trial is over.
Regards,
Xon
