So, you want to file a case, right? Please read this before proceeding if this is the first time you have dealt with this Court.
Filing Your Case
The first step is to file your case here in the Lobby. Please do so by creating a new thread. When filing your case, please keep in mind that you are in a court of law. This is not the time to use silly subject lines or show off ur im language. In all likelihood, your case will not be heard it you act ridiculously in preliminary pleadings.
In filing your case, you must include three things:
Now that you have filed your case, the Justices will review your case and decide if it will be heard or not. If they do decide to hear it, you will proceed to trial.
Trial
The trial should be held within a few days of the acceptance of your petition. It will be held in the Supreme Court forum. The format for the trials is posted in the Court forum. If you have had experience in a macronational court, the format here is not all that different.
Aside from preparing your case, the only thing you need to do before trial is to send the Chief Justice a list of witnesses you intend to call. The Chief Justice will post subpoenas to these persons in the Cafe. This subpoena obligates that person to testify in the trial.
The presiding justice at the trial will be the Chief Justice, although all justices will be able to ask questions of either parties and will certainly have an equal voice in the decision-making.
The trial will begin with the reading of the charges against the defendant to them. The defendant will be asked to plead guilty or not guilty. If he pleads not guilty, the trial will proceed. Otherwise, the Justices will deliberate on a sentence for the defendant. Plaintiffs, always assume that the defendant will plead not guilty.
After the end of the trial, the Justices will, in private, deliberate on the guilt or innocence of the defendant. If the defendant is found guilty, they will also decide on a sentence. The sentence and verdict will be announced in the courtroom.

In filing your case, you must include three things:
- Name of the plaintiff - Write your name here. If you are a government prosecutor, "REPUBLIC OF LAVALON" goes here.
- Name of the defendant - Write the name of the person you are suing here. It doesn't necessarily have to be a person though: it could be a company, a group of people, or even a government. Obviously, if you are a prosecutor, the name of the alleged criminal goes here.
- Charges. If you are filing a criminal case, write the crimes you allege the defendant committed. In a civil case, provide a detailed explanation of the dispute and what you want this Court to decide here.
