oh yeah... wasn't their discussion awhile ago about making knight and dame interchangeable depending on the gender of the member? maybe their should be a little clause saying that female members are to be called Dames and that all instance of the word Knight may also apply to Dames.

I guess when Jon gets back and revises the charter accordingly, unless he wants to try for further discussion, we'll be set... I'm pretty much already satisfied. I just want to know what kind of web presence we'll set up so I can help accordingly, and what I know, I'll write.
And Jon, what will the funtions of the L.o.E. be when the Lavalon Trust project ends?
Hope everyone's doing well! - Brandon

Nate, I did some research on knighthood, and basicaly, knighthood itself is knighthood irrespective of gender.
"A knight is addressed with the title Sir (e.g., Sir John); a woman, if knighted in her own right, is addressed as Dame."
That's it. So a woman would be called a Knight of the Order.
Website wise, I too have a good deal of graphic art and html experence. I'm planning to buy a domain name and webspace for myself, and the order will probibly be hosted on that.
As for the Order after the Trust, we'll burn that bridge when we cross it. There are many noble things we could do for micronationalism, or even beyond its scope.

Oh, and any suggestions for a domain name? Something generic enough that it could be used for more then one thing, and would be appropriate for the Order...

eucalyptorder.org, perhaps
I'd stick to ".org" though, it would be closer to our organization than .com unless you plan to commercialize the order...
Maybe .com and .org
Some possibilites and ideas: eucalyptorder.org micronationhistory.org lavalontrust.org lavalonhistory.org purpledragonsingalongfriends.org (couldn't help myself)
My favorite is eucalyptorder.org, because the trust could be at trust.eucalyptorger.org.
And any time you need technical help, I'm there; perhaps it would be best if more than one person works on it.

Simpleness sometimes goes a long way: eucalypt.org euorder.org I say we remove ourselves from Lavalon-centric names and concentrate on the eucalyptus. Of course

Considering the competition for DNS today, I'd be highly surprised if either were available. Personally, I like the specificness of the full eucalyptorder.org, even if I have to sacrifice a few extra seconds of my life to type it in. It is also easier to remember for someone who has only been to our site once; who in the world is going to remember that the Lavalon order of the Eucalypt was at euorder.org, when that sounds like some kind of European-related catalog?

eucalypt.org is available, but I also like knightsoflavalon.org also.
Bah, I can't do anything until wendsday, when I get my allowence.
I agree that .org would be best, but if worse comes to worse, we could use .info
Still working on the final draft for the Order, I'm trying to get it done tonight to post in the morning.
Hosting wise, I'm thinking of doteasy's free service: 100MB of space and a gig of bandwidth a month if you buy a domain through them; to be upgraded to their ultra hosting for $7.95 a month, that allows php and perl, as soon as I can guilt my mother into it.

I think I prefer eucalypt.org over knightsoflavalon.org. I just don't think trust.knightsoflavalon.com makes as much sense as trust.eucalypt.com...
But I guess it doesn't really matter that much... I just think I prefer eucalypt.org now.

Wow, I seemed to have totally missed this thread. This sounds good to me. I'll come back for more inspection later

Alright, I've applyed for eucalypt.org, and I should find out if I've got it in 48 hours.
Right now, the whole full draft is about a little more then half done... Things have been crazy at the moment, so bear with me.

Now, if I can just find the time to finish the damn charter, we'll be all set.

Alright. Here it is, my baby:
I stayed up till 1am to churn the rest of it out... Please, give me any and all feedback.
Now, are we going to have a message board? And if so, what type? Right now we have two options:
a, we use proboards, which is free and remotly hosted, which makes it so I don't have to purchase a service upgrade; r
or b, we use a phpBB or similar board, which means I have to pay $7.95 monthly for php, a gig of space, and 20 gigs of bandwidth; or $9.95 monthly for 20 gigs of space and unlimited bandwidth.
Alright, thoughts?
