This is the merit system I think we should use when awarding sticky threads: To get a sticky thread, a party needs to get 100 points, awarded as follows: - 2+ members: 10 points. (1 additional point for every member over 5)
- General Assembly passes legislation proposed by party member: 20 points.
- Party member is elected Chancellor: 10 points.
- Party member is elected Vice-President: 25 points.
- Party member is elected President: 30 points.
- Party member is Supreme Court Justice: 20 points.
- Party member is other Court Justice: 15 points.
Points can be taken away in the following ways:
- For every member you lose down to 5, you lose the additional point for those members.
- Membership falls below two members: lose 10 points.
- General Assembly repeals legislation proposed by party member: lose 20 points.
- Party member is Chancellor, but is removed from office: lose 5 points.
- Party member is VP, but is removed from office: lose 10 points.
- Party member is President, but is removed from office: lose 15 points.
- Party member is Supreme Court Justice, but is removed from office: lose 10 points.
- Party member is other Court Justice, but is removed from office: lose 5 points.
All past legislation should not be counted, as people have joined and removed themselves from various parties, and it would be almost impossible to narrow down what was passed by what party. Independents do not count as a party, and thus their merit points are not counted.
Do we like?
(This is loosely based on the merit system of the Socialist Party of the SSNG)

looks good. sounds like a boards game: "lose chancellory, go back 5 spaces" "lost presidencey, lose 2 turns" "pass legislation, go forward one space"

Sounds good! Do we have a volunteer to keep track of merit points in a sticky thread in this forum?

Maybe AndyC would like the job of keeping the running tally? I mean, he has been asking around for possible jobs.
This would also motivate someone to keep the docket thingy updated....which I think was posted and forgotten about. We need a running tally of what party proposed what so that we can just look up what passed, cross-reference it with the docket, and say "Ah. These parties receive X amount of points. Good for them."
