Heck, I'd join if not for point 5. What exactly do you mean "no simulation?" Where do you stand on Lavalon's MCS map claim?

Carson,
I'm a reluctant Bagelcratican myself--since the only way to get things done in this town is to be a Bagelcratican--but I would join the opposition in a heartbeat if it had a chance at success and it shared my views on Lavalonian culture and nationalism.
I agree with the LDP platform in its entirety. I would like it more if it had added "-Wants forums to be changed to PHPBB and -Wants Eucalyptus plant on the national logo and seal and -supports the historical accuracy and continuity of Lavalonian culture".
Regent Jon is an artistic genius, or at least an artistic maven. You might disagree with him on university planning issue, but he IS someone you'd want to be a part of the LDP or any opposition alliance. He maintains the only other pure opposition party, The Other Party (TOP). (The Workers' Socialist Party (WSP), the only other party, has harmonized itself with the Bagelcraticans.)
Regards,
Sir Vasroixe

I jsut realized something Carson, our VP also has other micronational citizenships, so neither would be eligible for the presidency with your policies.
I fully agree that the president should be devoted to their country, and Neem has proven herself (and of course im biased) to be loyal to Lavalon. The current demographic of Lavalon has a majority of citizens holding foreign citizenships and foreign offices.

Ah, you're right, point five is a bit bad for me. It's hard for the higher offices to be held by people with only one micronational citizenship. Most of us have more than one citizenship in some other nation.
In my measly defense, I think Lavalon is cool!

All, I have amended the platform based on what you've suggested. Now that I've had a chance to take it all in, much of what you've said makes sense. One of these changes is the removal of the limited multiple citizenships part.

As chairman of the Bagelcratican Party I'd like to invite the LDP to caucus with us.

Your Honor,
Please pardon my ignorance, but what exactly do you mean by caucusing with you?

in terms of Lavalon, it just means that the parties, while not alike enough to just merge, have enough similar goals that they loosely "ally" themselves with each other. for instance, the socialist party currently caususes with the PBP because we have somewhat similar ideas, but we dont all want to be the same party.

Ahem.
I'm glad I didn't see this before I decided for the relaxation. I am not fond of the word "ridiculous" in any light.
Nevermind that I was apointed the head of a university without even my consent or approval.

Carson, Nate would probably like to see with the Liberal Democratic Party what he has seen with the Workers' Socialist Party: harmonization of goals and voting habits. It's a smart thing to do, basically "grabbing" the political competition before it becomes more than a sprout.
Perhaps my expressed desire to leave the Bagelcraticans should a viable political opposition party emerge was percieved as a threat to Bagelcratican dominance. Perhaps Nate asking to caucus the LDP with the Bagelcraticans is just a way to ensure that threat never occurs.
I think the Liberal Democratic Party should remain independent for the sake of simply being the only viable opposition to the Bagelcraticans. I mean c'mon, Jon's The Other Party (TOP) is going nowhere. Now he's incensed at the use of the word "ridiculous", and so he might not join you for that, but still we might get some other citizens.

Poor Bagelcraticans... we're always misunderstood

Really...we're not "grabbing" anyone here. The goals of the LDP are good goals, if it sticks to them, will naturally ally itself with the PBP's similar goals as well.
However, so no one gets the wrong impression after Xon's little spiel, I retract my proposal for a cacaus and hope to see LDP/PBP relations develop naturally.

Don't apologize, I did not take offense. And you don't have to call me my title, Nate is fine.
