o.o
I hope you realize that the three bars and three stars is horribly reminiscent of the Iraqi and Syrian flags....two states KNOWN to support terrorism....
Also, the red stars on orange remind me of Communism....and with Xon's zealous anti-Marxist views, I'm not sure that having something resembling Communism is such a good thing....

Whatever happened to.... that one flag, had something Switzerland to it, something in the middle, and orange and red at the bottom. That was a flag right? Or did I make it up?

Yeah, I knew about the kind've Iraqi look to the second one, but it was one of my sketches, didn't realy think about the ramifications.
Anyway, I like the first one though.

I think if you did it in brighter colors, the first one would look tres-grand! The present colors are dark and moody....depressing....the flag looks dirty.

I like calm colors

Alright, Back to Basics 1 seems to be the general choice.
I believe we could vote on this now. The actual hue and brightness of the colors isn't what we're voting on, just the colors themselves and the pattern .
So, does anybody want to propose this in the GA for me, or shall I do it myself?

I believe that, because this is a cultural thing, a vote in the CPC is better than the Assembly. It's like the Academie Fracaise in France. They vote on things of cultural importance, and the Assembly votes on things of legal importance.

Yes, but legaly, anything effecting the nation as a whole has to be put before the Assembly. It's in the basic law.

The flag is a matter of culture, Jon, just like others you have decided. You can decide whether we use it or not yourself, or to put it to a vote in the Cultural Policy Council
Any decision of the CPC regarding something of culture is considered as good as if it were made by the General Assembly, at least that is how I interpret the above as I wrote it.
To the point, the vote you want to called should be called here in the CPC, and not in the General Assembly. The CPC is simply a special organizational unit of the General Assembly to separate cultural matters from everything else, which would normally go to the Assembly.
But, if you REALLY wanted to, you could send the vote to the Assembly because of the following statement:
But, putting cultural stuff to vote in the Assembly is unnecessary if the CPC is a sub-unit of it with all the same powers as it.
Now, everyone thoroughly confused?
